Senator Jerry Moran, who represents Kansas and serves on the Senate Committee on Veterans’ Affairs and the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry, recently shared updates about aerospace industry developments and notable visitors to the U.S. Capitol through a series of social media posts.

On May 11, 2026, Moran highlighted his visit with Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg in Wichita. In his post, he stated: “It was great to join @Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg in Wichita today to meet with Boeing Wichita’s talented workforce, community leaders & local aerospace suppliers – including a stop at @MAXaero_ICT. During the visit, Mr. Ortberg announced that Boeing will invest $1 billion in its”.

The following day, May 12, 2026, Moran acknowledged a special event at the Capitol: “Great to have the Artemis II astronauts at the Capitol today.”

Later that same day, he commented on regional growth opportunities: “As opportunities increase in Wichita’s aerospace, manufacturing, defense & healthcare sectors, the region remains a sought-after place to gain an education, build a career & raise a family. More from the @WSJ”

Senator Moran has represented Kansas’s 1st Congressional District for seven terms in the U.S. House of Representatives before joining the Senate (official website).
