92 percent of applicants to Fort Hays State University were admitted for fall 2018

At Fort Hays State University, 69 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 59 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Hays enrolled 15,523 students in fall 2018, including 12,780 in undergraduate and 2,743 in graduate programs, data shows. 21 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

79 percent of undergraduates are residents of Kansas, and 20 percent are residents of other states. 1 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (52 percent) and Hispanic or Latino (8 percent).

The school admitted 92 percent of the 2,191 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 49 percent enrolled.
