Census Bureau reports Hays population was 20,855 in 2020

Hays had a population of 20,855 people in 2020, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the NW Kansas News.

The median age was 32, with 51 percent of the total population being female and 49 percent male.

The state's total population in 2020 was 2,912,619.
