Northwest Tech Outlasts Colby

After a solid start in Goodland against Northwest Kansas Technical College, the Colby Community College women's basketball team cooled off in the second half in a 57-42 loss to the Mavericks on Saturday night.

The Trojans shot 54% in the first quarter and had a 13-11 lead behind five points from Ileah Beh. Colby wasn't as sharp in the second quarter, turning the ball over 10 times and trailing 23-21 at the break.

Shooting struggles plagued Colby in the third quarter, making three of ten from the field and getting outscored 16-12. Scoring was at a premium in the final frame, as the Trojans put nine points on the board behind

Colby's Aaliyah Chambers finished with 15 points, while the Mavericks' Sarengbe Sanogo had a well-rounded game of 18 points and 10 rebounds.

The Trojans are home at the Colby Event Center on Wednesday for a 5:30 p.m. start against Pratt Community College.
