Women's basketball fourth in WBCA academic top 25

The Colby Community College women's basketball team was honored for academic excellence by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association in the 2021-22 WBCA Academic Top 25 Team Honor Rolls. The Trojans posted a 3.45 grade point average, which ranked fourth among all qualifying two-year Division I schools. The GPA of Coach James Cole's team was also second-best in the Jayhawk Conference.

"It's a great honor for the young ladies and our program to be recognized for their accomplishments in the classroom," said Cole. "We teach our student-athletes that it is bigger than just basketball here at Colby Community College. We want them to be successful in life, starting with a good education. This accomplishment also reflects the faculty and staff here and the student-athletes' families. So, we must say congratulations and thank you to them as well."

The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes NCAA Division I, II, and III, NAIA, and two-year college women's basketball teams across the nation that carry the highest combined GPAs inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season.
