Senator Jerry Moran has recently highlighted legislative and disaster relief efforts affecting Kansas residents in a series of posts on his official X account.

On August 19, 2025, Senator Moran announced the benefits of new tax legislation for Kansans, stating, "No taxes on tips will allow Kansans to take home more of their hard-earned paychecks, & no taxes on overtime will benefit 64% of the Kansas workforce thanks to the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. This legislation also extends the 15% tax cut for middle-income Kansans."

Addressing recent natural disasters, Moran posted on August 20, 2025 about his response to severe weather in Kansas: "In June, Kansas faced severe weather and tornadoes that left significant damage to homes, businesses and property. I led my Kansas colleagues in requesting the President to make a disaster declaration to help these communities rebuild."

Further detailing legislative initiatives on August 21, 2025, Moran wrote about support for small businesses: "The One Big Beautiful Bill Act is reducing tax burdens on Kansas small businesses & helping to spur job creation. By making small business deductions that 42% of KS businesses rely on permanent, this legislation will provide certainty for business owners and spur new innovation."

The One Big Beautiful Bill Act referenced by Senator Moran aims to provide ongoing tax relief for both individuals and small businesses in Kansas. According to his statements, the bill makes permanent certain deductions utilized by a significant portion of local enterprises while also extending existing tax cuts for middle-income earners. The act’s provisions regarding overtime and tip income are designed to increase take-home pay for much of the state’s workforce.

Senator Moran’s call for federal disaster assistance follows a period marked by damaging storms across Kansas in June 2025. His request seeks additional resources from the federal government to assist with recovery efforts for affected communities.

Senator Jerry Moran represents Kansas in the U.S. Senate and frequently advocates for economic policies aimed at supporting workers and business owners throughout his state.
