Senator Jerry Moran, U.S. Senator representing Kansas, shared a series of posts on October 1, 2025, addressing topics ranging from community loss to legislative gridlock and religious observance.

In his first post on the day, Moran acknowledged the death of a local police officer: "Hays Police Officer Sgt Scott Heimann tragically died on Sunday while defending his community from harm. Hays is a small, tight-knit town, and the loss of this young man is deeply heartbreaking for us. We will always remember Sgt. Heimann's sacrifice and honor the legacy he" (October 1, 2025).

Later that evening, Moran commented on ongoing budget negotiations in Congress: "Last night, Senate Democrats again rejected a non-partisan continuing resolution to keep the government open.

Using a government shutdown as leverage for unrelated priorities is disruptive to our country and the American people." (October 1, 2025).

He concluded his public remarks with a message recognizing an important religious holiday: "Wishing a meaningful and blessed Yom Kippur to Jewish communities in Kansas and around the world who are observing this holy day of atonement." (October 1, 2025).

Senator Moran has served as one of Kansas’s U.S. Senators since 2011 and has regularly used social media platforms to communicate with constituents about local events, national policy issues, and observances important to diverse communities across Kansas.
