Senator Jerry Moran, a member of the U.S. Senate representing Kansas and Chairman of the Appropriations Subcommittee that oversees NASA’s budget, recently shared several updates on his official Twitter account regarding his activities and engagements.

On July 24, 2025, Senator Moran congratulated Army Captain Richard Topping on his new role at the Department of Veterans Affairs. He wrote, "Congratulations to Army Captain Richard Topping on his confirmation to be Chief Financial Officer at @DeptVetAffairs. Captain Topping will be responsible for making certain the VA is a good steward of taxpayer dollars, & I look forward to working with him to serve our veterans."

The following day, July 25, 2025, Senator Moran thanked an organization for inviting him to speak at a major industry event. He posted, "Thank you @SpaceFoundation for inviting me to speak at the Global Space Economic Summit. I appreciate the conversation on my work as Chairman of the Appropriations Subcommittee that oversees NASA’s budget & this year’s appropriations bill that advances America’s leadership in"

Later that same day, Senator Moran reflected on a meeting with youth delegates from Kansas. In his tweet he stated, "Enjoyed meeting with @ALAGirlsNation & @ALBoysNation delegates this week. These outstanding rising seniors were selected to represent KS & learn about public service. It was also great to see my former Senate Page, Johnny, who was with the group. Thanks for stopping by!"

Senator Moran has served in Congress since 2011 and is known for his focus on veterans’ affairs and space policy oversight as part of his legislative responsibilities.
