Senator Jerry Moran, chairman of the Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee, posted a series of statements on his social media account between July 25 and July 27, 2025. His messages highlighted support for veterans entering the workforce and expressed condolences following an incident involving law enforcement in Wyandotte County.

On July 25, Moran recognized National Hire a Veteran Day by emphasizing the value veterans bring to civilian employment. He stated, "Today is National Hire a Veteran Day. Veterans bring a unique set of skills and experience to the workplace – including discipline, leadership and dedication to service. As chairman of @SVACGOP, I'm committed to helping our veterans achieve success after service." Moran has previously advocated for initiatives that assist military personnel in transitioning to civilian careers through federal programs and private sector partnerships.

Two days later, on July 27 at 00:32 UTC, Senator Moran addressed an incident involving local law enforcement in Kansas City, Kansas. He wrote, "Praying for the Wyandotte County Sheriff’s Deputy who was injured in the line of duty and for all the KCK law enforcement on duty tonight. I’m grateful for the law enforcement men and women who work to keep our communities safe."

Later that day at 11:39 UTC, he shared condolences regarding a fatality within the Wyandotte County Sheriff Department: "It’s a sad day for the Wyandotte County Sheriff Department as they mourn the loss of one of their finest - Deputy Elijah Ming - who was killed in the line of duty. My prayers are with his family and community as they mourn this loss."

Senator Moran represents Kansas in the U.S. Senate and has long been involved with legislation supporting both veterans' affairs and public safety initiatives.
