Senator Jerry Moran shared updates on his recent activities and legislative progress in a series of posts on July 31, 2025. Moran, who represents Kansas in the U.S. Senate, highlighted visits to local healthcare facilities and advancements in legislation aimed at supporting veterans and rural communities.

On July 31, Moran wrote about his ongoing efforts to engage with healthcare providers in Kansas: "Continuing my Kansas hospital tour, last Friday I visited the Community HealthCare System of Northeast Kansas in Onaga. I learned more about the wide array of services they provide to improve the health and lives of the people they serve. Thank you for hosting me! https://t.co/hOFLVUEiHO" (posted July 31, 2025).

Later that day, Moran announced progress on veteran healthcare legislation: "GOOD NEWS: Senate VA Committee advanced my legislation, the Veterans’ ACCESS Act, out of committee with bipartisan support. This legislation will provide life-saving care & more choices to veterans in Kansas & across the country. Read more herehttps://t.co/iwMAtmc9fL" (posted July 31, 2025).

In another update posted that evening, Moran reported movement on housing policy: "PASSED: My bill to reduce duplicative rural housing regulations between @HUD & @USDA & streamline the building process to address the need for rural housing in Kansas & across the U.S. was included in the ROAD to Housing Act, which passed unanimously out of @BankingGOP this week https://t.co/irBaKWEfc6" (posted July 31, 2025).

Senator Moran has focused much of his recent work on improving access to healthcare and housing for Kansans and other rural Americans. His hospital tour is part of an ongoing initiative to understand local needs by meeting directly with providers throughout the state. The Veterans’ ACCESS Act aims to expand options for veterans seeking medical care through reforms supported by both parties in Congress.

The ROAD to Housing Act addresses longstanding challenges related to overlapping federal regulations from agencies such as HUD and USDA. By streamlining these rules, lawmakers intend to make it easier for developers and communities to build new homes in rural areas—a response to persistent shortages and regulatory barriers faced by small towns.

These efforts reflect broader national debates over how best to support underserved populations through targeted federal policies while reducing bureaucratic obstacles.
