Senator Jerry Moran recently addressed several policy and community issues in a series of posts on his official Twitter account. The tweets, published between September 3 and September 4, 2025, cover topics ranging from support for working parents to veterans’ health care and honoring a fallen police officer.
On September 3, Senator Moran highlighted upcoming changes under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. He stated, "Under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, working parents can contribute more of their hard-earned paycheck to their flexible spending account (FSA) to help pay for services like childcare & preschool. Starting Jan. 2026, the annual contribution for dependent care for families will".
The following day, Moran turned attention to veterans' health care needs. In a post dated September 4, he wrote, "With increased research into low-level blast injuries, VA providers can deliver more accurate diagnoses and treatments for these invisible wounds, save lives and better protect the health & safety of our nation's veterans." Increased research on blast injuries is part of ongoing efforts by federal agencies to improve diagnosis and treatment options for military personnel suffering from less visible wounds related to service.
Later that same day, Senator Moran commented on the death of a Kansas City Kansas Police Department officer. He posted on September 4: "The loss of 26 year-old KCKPD Officer Hunter Simoncic is a heartbreaking tragedy. While we can never repay his sacrifice, we can honor him & make certain his legacy is remembered." The statement comes as communities across the country continue to discuss ways to recognize law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty.
Senator Jerry Moran represents Kansas in the United States Senate and frequently uses social media platforms to communicate legislative updates and community concerns.
